Which one is best for a first visit?

San Miguel de Allende. The colonial city alone is worth the trip, the golf at Ventanas is excellent without being brutal, and the BJX airport is just over an hour from Mexico City.

Is Loreto worth the longer flight?

Yes, especially if you've already done Cabo. Loreto feels like Cabo 30 years ago — dramatic Sea of Cortez terrain, very few crowds, direct LAX flights. Loreto Bay (Rees Jones) is the most remote championship round in Mexico.

How do I book these courses?

Most aren't on standard booking channels. It's member-guest invitations, friend-of-the-property bookings, and direct emails. Tell us where you want to play and we'll walk you through the access channel for that destination.

Can I combine several of these on one trip?

We recommend against it. Each region has its own pace and needs at least 3 days to get a real feel. Hopping between them usually ruins the experience. Pick one per trip — come back for the next.

When's the best time to play highland golf in Mexico?

October through April. February is the sweet spot — clear, dry, cool mornings, mild afternoons. Avoid June through September (afternoon storms). Above 6,000 feet, every course plays half a club shorter — recalibrate on day one.
